The increase of technology has changed the way educators teach, how students learn, and the way teachers and students communicate. The benefits of technology in education go across all areas of content and grade levels from K-12 all the way to colleges and universities. The increase of technology in schools allows for a better learning environment without eliminating any other key educational components. Technology in the classroom allows teachers to prepare lesson plans that engage the students in the learning process as well as hands-on experiences. One of the most important benefits of technology in the classroom is that it is preparing students to work effectively in this 21st century.

Technology in the classroom has many benefits. First, teachers are now using SMART boards, interactive whiteboards, projectors, and other visual aids to teach the lesson. Using these items in the classroom to facilitate instruction causes the students to become engaged, more motivated, and more excited about learning (“Effects of Technology”). My personal experience with being engaged in the learning process is the fact that I was able to participate in discussions by relating them to my real-life experiences. By doing this it made me eager to learn and improved my understanding of the topic. New tech tools for visualizing and modeling, especially in the sciences, offer students ways to experiment and observe phenomenon and to view results in graphic ways that aid in understanding.
